Tender Mercy set to release "The Road To Good Intention Is Paved With Hell" this Friday!

Mark Kramer's minimalist folk project Tender Mercy is ready for its debut release. The Road To Good Intention Is Paved With Hell will be released this Friday on Dunkenstein Records, and a release party is set for this Friday (3/23) at Zanzabar. Preview to the new album below:



Also joining the bill is Wooden Wand, brainchild of James Jackson Toth, who has also recorded under his given name as well as the name WAND. The music created under his most recent moniker could be described as psychedelic lo-fi folk. Check out Wooden Wand's recent music video below featuring the song "Winter In Kentucky":

Tender Mercy is the moniker used by singer-songwriter Mark Kramer, and his upcoming record is now available for you to check out on bandcamp. Kramer sings and plays guitar while Mike Seymour plays piano to complete a very earthy minimalist feel throughout. The album is titled The Road To Good Intention Is Paved With Hell and will be released on Dunkenstein Records this winter. In the meantime, preview the album below:

Lee Van Cleef finally comes out of hibernation to play a rare show this weekend. This Saturday, Chime Hours will join LVC at Cahoots. Show starts at 10PM, costs 5 bucks, and is 21+. BE THERE!

Upcoming Tender Mercy CD

A 6 song CD is in the works for Tender Mercy, a newer indie folk duo featuring Mark Kramer (vocals and acoustic guitar) and Mike Seymour (piano). The recordings are finished, and were conducted by Trip Barringer at Studio K. Expect a late spring/early summer release.

The name of Lee Van Cleef’s new album conjures a darker image than any of the song titles on Terror, Blood. “Pro Xylophone Propaganda” and “I Hereby Announce My Retirement From Music” paint a much goofier picture. The resulting music is, of course, somewhere in between. The songs are aggressive but not necessarily angry, harsh but not grating. The five-piece wield jagged guitars with a post-punk flurry, but can also settle into a riff-heavy groove. Instrumental forays like “Jupago’s Last Stand” put a higher priority on texture than hooks, and even when the band threatens to meander a little too far afield, they reign it back in with a calculated kick in the ass. In short, Lee Van Cleef kill it.
